Europracticum Summer School 2013

This was an unforgettable summer we spent in Germany, Saarbrucken. The University of Saarland opened its gates for us very friendly. When we came on this course we could not expect what is this course going to be about. We had an idea that it was going to be a simple course on Euro integration, and how is it important to join the EU for every member of Europe. The thoughts that we expected totally failed! Instead of simple EU integration course we got the best course ever! Different professors, from different parts of Europe cam to teach us history of their own lands and how the history of their countries influenced on the creation of European Union. In this course we got to know about different methodic of education, we listened to such impressive lectures that you will never be able to hear in any other place. One of our professors was from University of Belfast and he was reading lectures on the history of Ireland and its separation on Ireland and Northern Ireland. As for us we hadn’t even known about the history of Ireland before we were told about that. The dramatic events which happened there are just worthy Shakespears’ plays. If you think that it was only lectures you are totally mistaken! We were shown different kinds of films which were about the events that happened in Ireland and in Bosnia& Herzogovina. We also had a wonderful professor who taught us a lot about the separation of Yugoslavian countries and about the Yugoslavian war, its reasons and results. 

 

If you think that listening to the lectures and watching the films is all you are going to do, you are totally mistaken! You will also experience some field trips. For example we were given such opportunities as visiting Trier- which is one of the oldest cities in Germany and Strasbourg-which is the capital city of Euro parliament. These cities are defiantly worth seeing, and exploring. Moreover, you will have very much of free time in which you can explore the capital of Saarland, Saarbrucken. It is a wonderful city with dozens of sight seeing, cafes, clubs, and with lots of boutiques to do shopping.

 

In addition, it is a great opportunity to meet new people from different parts of Europe. As for us we still communicate with the friends we made on this course. Europacium Summer School can offer you not only wonderful knowledge, but also a big variety of activities, such as sport, excursions, and hanging outs in disco clubs for example.

So, do not miss your chance to take part in this wonderful event as it is a very fruitful work to do, it is a great satisfaction to explore other cultures, and to meet new people!
