Мрії збуваються!

«Мрії збуваються…»,- сказав колись один мудрець. Чесно кажучи, в цей вислів я не вірила…до минулої весни. Саме тоді збулася мрія всього мого дитинства – я відвідала славнозвісну столицю «туманного Альбіону», Лондон.
5 незабутніх днів підготовки до півфіналу Міжнародного конкурсу з ораторського мистецтва, організованого об‘єднанням ESU (English Speaking Union)…5 незабутніх днів знайомства з величним містом-легендою…5 незабутніх днів, наповнених зустрічами з новими людьми, які назавжди залишаться в моєму серці…Ці 5 днів дійсно відкрили нову сторінку в моєму житті – сторінку, на якій заголовком є «Міжнародний конкурс з ораторського мистецтва - 2010».
Час, проведений в Лондоні, промайнув навіть швидше за мить, але отриманий досвід можна прирівняти незліченим рокам. Вміння виступати перед великою аудиторією, жестами, мімікою та постановкою голосу переконувати опонентів у правоті лише твоєї точки зору, логічно та аргументовано підтримувати дебати – це лише частина того, чого навчило нас, учасників, об’єднання ESU. Але розвиток навичок публічного мовлення був не єдиним завданням, поставленим перед командою організаторів, адже культурний обмін між усіма країнами нашого спільного дому також був реалізований на 100%.

 

 

За 5 днів, відведених на підготовку до самого конкурсу, 80 учасників із 40 країн світу стали однією сім’єю, незважаючи на різноманітність характерів, релігійних поглядів, просто життєвих орієнтирів. Ми проводили до 20 годин на добу разом, відвідуючи палаци, театри, прогулюючись надбережжям Темзи… І навіть цих 20 годин було замало: дуже часто можна було побачити групку людей, якими виявлялися наші учасники, чи то у парку біля готелю, чи то в залі для гостей всередині, які співали, акомпануючи на гітарі, грали в різноманітні ігри або ж просто спілкувалися до пізньої ночі. Навіть зараз, коли вже минуло більш, ніж півроку, ми часто зустрічаємося в Інтернеті, поздоровляємо один одного зі святами, цікавимося життям, обмінюємося різноманітними враженнями та досвідом…Не побоюся сказати, що ми стали справжніми часточками один одного. І кожен з нас, я впевнена в цьому, буде завжди робити все можливе для того, щоб відновити цю цілісність ще хоча б раз в своєму житті…

 

 

«Dreams come true…»,- said once a very wise man. Telling the truth, I didn’t believe in this saying…till the last spring. It is exactly then when the dream of the whole of my childhood came true – I visited the famous capital of the “foggy Albion”, London.
5 unforgettable days of the preparations for the semi-final of the International Public Speaking Competition, organized by the ESU (English Speaking Union)… 5 unforgettable days full of acquaintance with the majestic city-legend…5 unforgettable days of constant meeting with new people who will stay in my heart forever…These 5 days have truly opened a new page in my life – the page, the title of which is “International Public Speaking Competition 2010”.
Time, spent in London, passed even quicker than a moment, but the experience received can be compared only with that which is got through years. Skills of speaking in front of large audience; the ability of convincing your opponents in the rightness of only your opinion, using exclusively jests, mimicry and voice; logical and reasonable keeping the debates going – this is only the part of things that we, the participants, learned from the ESU. But the development of the public speaking skills was not the only task set up before the group of organizers, because culture exchange between all the countries of our common home was also realized for 100 %. Only 5 days, allotted for the preparation for the competition proper, made us, 80 participants from 40 countries, despite all the differences in our characters, religious views, and simply life guides, a really one  big close family. We spent 20 hours a day together visiting palaces, theatres, walking along the shore of the Thames…And even these 20 hours were not enough: very often you could see a group of people, whom always our participants appeared to be, somewhere either in the park near the hotel or in the guest room inside, singing and accompanying on the guitar, playing various games or simply communicating till late at night. Even now, when already more then half a year passed, we are meeting on the Internet, congratulate each other with the holidays, interest about one another’s life, exchange different impressions and experiences…I’m not afraid to say that we have become real parts of one another. And I am sure that each of us will always do everything possible to restore this whole for at least once more in his life…
