We are inclined to think that it may be accounted for by an intensive development of political technologies and the emergence of scientific papers dealing with the analysis of political discourse of famous politicians‚ its language representation through the prism of political speeches.

The UK’s 2016 referendum in which the entire country had to make a decision on the withdrawal from the European Union caused the appearance of a multitude of neologisms in English. The recent publications of journalists, researchers and bloggers have already fixed hundreds of new Brexit-induced coinages which have been elicited from a variety of sources such as news media, internet forums, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Brexit and anti-Brexit slogans. Needless to say, that their number is constantly growing as the political and economic crisis conceptualized by Brexit has not overcome yet.

There is a common belief that metaphors are only used by writers and poets, but they are actually ingrained in our everyday life. As stated by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson in their highly influential work Metaphors We Live By (1980), „our ordinary conceptual system, in terms of which we both think and act, is fundamentally metaphorical in nature’’ [4]. When it comes to political discourse, metaphors help support political positioning or push a certain ideology, establishing the speaker as a desirable candidate [3].

Дослідження сприйняття одного народу очима іншого з позицій його мовного вираження в сучасній лінгвістиці відносно нові (приблизно 12-15 років) [Пименова 2018, с.105]. До дослідження концептів країн/держав зверталися дослідники на матеріалі різних мов (концепти АМЕРИКА, КИТАЙ, ГЕРМАНИЯ, ФРАНЦИЯ тощо). Проте концепт COREA ще не потрапляв у фокус сучасних лінгвістичних досліджень, що і зумовлює новизну пропонованої наукової розвідки.

Об’єктом дослідження виступає концепт COREA в іспанській лінгвокультурі, предметом постають мовленнєві засоби репрезентації компаративної когнітивної моделі в структурі концепту COREA в іспанській лінгвокультурі. Матеріалом для дослідження послугували тексти сучасної іспанської преси.
