The relevance of the research and formulation of the problem. The future of our civilization depends on the state of education and its development that becoming a priority. The essence of the content of higher education and informative content of training courses have always been and remained an important issue of higher education didactics and teaching methods for individual disciplines. The improvement of the professional training of students who have master’s degree is also relevant due to the introduction of a competent approach as a methodology for professional training [1].

The analysis of the results of the performed researches. One of the elements of the reform of school education in the developed countries of the world is the introduction of the foundations of nanotechnology into the programs of secondary schools. Due to the fact that nanotechnologies combine physics, chemistry, biology and other subjects, the requirement is that these disciplines need to be taught comprehensively, but not separately. To this end, there are introduced programs for the preferment of education quality for teachers of natural sciences who are focused on school and even nursery education, as well as on the widespread outreach of an idea of nanotechnology for the entire society.

The purpose of this work is to analyze the peculiarities of the professional training of masters in the specialty 014.10. Secondary education (Labor education and technologies) at pedagogical universities and to substantiate the expedience of studying the peculiarities of modern structural materials and the foundations of nanotechnology.

The presentation of the main material. The necessity of studying of the peculiarities of modern structural materials and the foundations of nanotechnology now in school courses is determined with the necessity of the professional orientation of students with their further training in universities that can provide training for specialists at the level of modern science and technology development.

That is why we have developed a training course "Contemporary Structural Materials and Nanotechnologies" for future teachers of labor education and technologies. This course consists of two content modules: 1. The features of modern structural materials; 2. The concept of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies.

In the first module, along with traditional structural materials that have not lost their relevance at this stage of science and technology development, we consider perspective composite materials. The latest, regardless of their origin, are the result of a volumetric combination of heterogeneous components, one of which is plastic, and the other one has high          permanency and rigidity. In this case, the compositions acquire properties which do not have separate components. Herewith the compositions get the qualities that are not contained in separate parts. A common work of heterogeneous materials gives an effect which is equivalent to the creation of a new material whose properties are quantitatively and qualitatively different from the properties of each of its constituents.

During studying the second module, we pay special attention to the quantum nature of the properties of nanoparticles. Accordingly, the unusual and extremely various properties of nanomaterials - structural, electrical, mechanical, etc. - determine the very wide possibilities of their practical application. Beside with the plenty of the advantages of nanotechnology, already in the modern (far from perfect) stage of their development there are certain warnings with regard to their mass implementation: the invisibility of nanotechnologies in their use complicates the control and monitoring of their consequences; the fast paces of  development of nanotechnologies complicate forecasting, especially in the long perspective, their possible consequences and the adoption of appropriate measures; the use of nanotechnologies for military purposes can conflict with human rights.

The conclusions. This course corresponds to the tasks and objectives of the preparation of masters of the specialty 014.10. The secondary education (Labor education and technologies), contributes to the formation of a holistic picture of the world at different scales of the size of physical objects, allows us to consider natural and artificial nanostructures in single positions, that contribute to the formation of a universal scientific outlook, prepares to report on modern constructional materials and technologies for students' perception.

The search for methods and forms of work with the population is an important task for education, especially when the society faces serious problems related to cloning, the creation of genetically modified products, the influence of nanoparticles on the human environment and its health. These problems can be partly solved by professionally-oriented training courses, similar to those discussed.
