PARTICIPATION IN SOCIALLY BENEFICIAL ACTIVITY: A PREREQUISITE FOR EFFECTIVE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS

Summary  

This study has been conducted with the aim of identifying and testing of the main types of socially beneficial activity of students during the first year of studying at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of higher educational institutions, and is an important step in the preparation of our doctoral dissertation research. The author has investigated and analyzed the impact of the organization of socially beneficial activities in University for the individualization of professional training of foreign language teachers (the need for social self-realization, individual and collective work for the good of the group, University, society). In particular, it has been noted the importance of implementation in the process of training of future foreign language teachers of the following types of public beneficial activities: extracurricular activities of students, research activity, out-of-class activities, the use of the Internet in extracurricular activities, co-creative design and implementation, volunteering.
It has been noted in the article that extracurricular activities is the work of subject groups with linguistic, pedagogical disciplines, clubs of oratory art. The most common forms of research activities are subject groups which objective is the familiarization with certain issues of science, deeper study of specific issues of this science. The out-of-class activities can be divided into the following forms of work in a foreign language studying according to the content: 1) competitive, 2) mass media, 3) cultural-mass, 4) political- mass. If co-creative design activity is organized pedagogically correctly, it unites students and teaching staff. During the use of all service possibilities of the Internet (the WIKI, MOODLE), the author describes the communicative exercises that are used in professional activities. Volunteering is a practice of a foreign language mastery and self-development; it is a great way to overcome the language barrier, to practice foreign language(s), to see the country, its traditions especially from the inside.
